RACER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Any male or female 18 years of age or older as of the race day who can complete the race within the time limit and without getting lost.
  • Racers must have successfully completed races that are registered with the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and have earned points described below. The races must have been completed within the last two years (from October 26, 2020) up until the day before the start date of the race registration for the general category (October 25, 2022).
    However, at least one of these races must have been completed within one year (from October 26, 2021) up until the day before the registration start date (October 25, 2022).

FUJI: 10 points or more from up to three races*
KAI: 3 points or more from up to two races*

As a special exception, finishers of the Virtual ULTRA-TRAIL Mt.FUJI 2021 and 2022 can use the points they earned by completing the virtual races as qualification points.

  • Registered racers of the ULTRA-TRAIL Mt.FUJI 2020 and 2021 (those who had the right to run as general category racers or donation-based racers) are given priority entry rights even if they do not have the specified points.

CONDITIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS RACE

  • As a racer, you understand the unique nature and requirements of competing in an ultra-long distance trail running race. You will be running all day and night through mountainous terrain and have undertaken the necessary training to compete in such a race.
  • You are responsible for yourself and have the ability to deal with any problems that you may encounter during the race.
  • You are able to deal with, on your own without assistance, deteriorating weather conditions (low temperatures, strong winds, rain and snow) and other troubles expected in mountainous terrain.
  • You are able to physically and mentally deal with extreme fatigue, stomach problems, muscle pain, and minor physical injuries on your own.
  • You fully understand that you are responsible for overcoming the above conditions1 to 4 on your own and that it is not the responsibility of the race organization.
  • You are fully aware that when participating in an outdoor activity such as this race, your safety depends on your own skills and abilities.
  • Video footage, photos, articles, race results, etc. may be used and/or shown in newspapers, television shows, magazines, Internet articles, pamphlets, etc. You understand and agree that rights to these contents belong to the race organization and may be used in various media.
  • All racers must accept and comply with the ULTRA-TRAIL Mt.FUJI 2023 Operation Policy on the Prevention of COVID-19.

* If during the 2023 race, we find out that you did not meet the above race conditions, your entry to the 2024 race and thereafter may be declined.

Those who are willing to make the above donation to the NPO Fuji Trail Runners Club to be used for environmental activities and meet the eligibility requirements for this race.

CAUTIONS

  • Please note that the donation is not tax deductible.
  • Those who use the donation-based entry are not required to pay the additional payment processing fee.
  • The donation will be used for the environmental activities of the NPO Fuji Trail Runners Club, including environmental surveys and trail maintenance work around Mt. Fuji.

How to check your ITRA points, results, and your Performance Index before entering the FUJI

Go to the website of the International Trail Running Association (ITRA https://itra.run/) (available in English, French, and Spanish) and check the point, result, and performance index of a race that you have participated.

TOP page → RUNNERS → Find a runner → Enter your name and nationality and search. Click on “Race Results” in "Course characteristics" for ITRA result points.

Performance Index scores are listed to the right of your name.

How to check your ITRA points

NOTE

  • When entering the ULTRA-TRAIL Mt.FUJI, you will be required to provide the name and date of the trail race(s) you have completed, as well as your race number(s), finish time(s), and the Performance Index issued by the ITRA. We will use the Performance Index to assign racers to groups of the wave start.
  • You will be required to show photo ID (such as a driver’s license) when you pick up your race bibs.
  • If you do not have a photo ID (such as a driver’s license), the race organizer will send you a racer identification format by e-mail. In such case, please contact us at info-english@ultratrailmtfuji.com in March or April and on. Please paste your face photo on the racer identification format and send it back to us via Email or mail it back to us

ENTRY CANCELLATION OR CHANGES

  • Please be aware that you cannot change the race category or cancel your entry for whatever the reason once you’ve completed the payment process before the payment deadline. There are no entry fee refunds (full or partial).
  • Your entry will become invalid and canceled if we receive your payment after the payment deadline. In this case, your payment will be returned to you minus the designated administrative fee.
  • The transfer of the right to participate in the race to another person is NOT allowed.
